About us
Helping Children
The Ayla Project International (API) is a nonpolitical humanitarian organization born in the Fall of 2023 in response to the Middle East crisis. API is envisioned to eventually expand beyond the Middle East to serve families in areas of conflict around the world. We exercise a flexible, adaptable approach, meeting the needs of each family where they are at. We are child advocates who work through the power of networks and partnerships to meet the needs of war refugee critically-ill children and their families holistically.
Empowering women
Women and girls carry compounded burdens in conflict zones. Mothers are primary caregivers for injured or traumatized children, while simultaneously navigating housing insecurity, food needs, medical appointments, school enrollment, legal uncertainty, grief, and social isolation.
Women-headed households are especially exposed when they lack stable income, documentation, or access to service networks. Girls face interrupted education, trauma symptoms, limited mobility, menstrual hygiene barriers, and heightened protection risks in unfamiliar environments.
It is for this reason that we’re expanding our efforts into empowering women to start businesses and provide stable support for their families.
